This composition is very loosely based on Hoagy Carmichael’s “The Nearness of You”. First recorded on Peter Kienle‘s CD “Peter’s Money” and then expanded to a big band version by the same. This is the maiden voyage of that arrangement and was performed by the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Jazz Ensemble (also know as IUJSMJE) and directed by Jeremy Allen.
